If you are going to be an organic gardener, then you need to consider the importance of using an organic gardening pest control, rather than a chemical based pest control. The reason for this is simple: organic gardening means gardening without using any kind of chemicals that are harmful to the environment. We often hear people talking about this kind of vegetable growing these days, and many are wanting to find a good organic gardening guide to learn from. But when selecting a guide, one needs to be sure that pest control is addressed the organic way.
The best way to grow nutrient rich vegetables is to use soil fertilized with organic compost. The result is that people are having the finest vegetables in their kitchens. You should feed the soil with natural nutrients every spring and fall. Peat moss and animal manure are preferred, but home made compost will do too.
Pesticides are touted as protection for plants against insects. But not all insects are harmful to plants. And, for every pest that is harmful, you can find many nature friendly methods to keep that pest away from your garden. You can do this by choosing the right plants that suit certain soils and by growing different kinds of plants together. Applying organic dish washing liquid soap is also a kind of organic gardening pest control. Weeds are also one of the worst enemies that a garden can have. To tackle them, you can place thick layers of old newspapers down around your plants. By using an organic gardening pest control method, not only can you save money but you can also avoid using chemical pesticides.
Now. what about store-bought organic fertilizers? Well, why would you want to buy these when much better quality fertilizer is in your backyard? Why go to the trouble bringing that fertilizer from the store when just a few steps in back of your home will provide you with a view of some of the richest compost around? In this way, your plants are fed better. And ultimately, your body is too.
